Favorite Beauty Products of June: Black Girl Friendly SPF

I used to believe that "Black people don't need sunscreen." In the past, I rarely applied it during vacations. However, after a trip to Miami where I ended up sunburned, I made sure to pack sunscreen for EVERY vacation thereafter.
With summer here and the heat being intense, I've begun to take my skincare routine more seriously. A friend gave me some SPF products from the Vacation brand, and they've been crucial in my body care routine. The best thing about the products are they're also Black girl friendly! So, let's get into a few of my favorite beauty products of June!

The first product is Vacation's Chardonnay Lip Oil SPF 30. It's made from Chardonnay grape seed oil that keeps your lips nourished and plumped, while also providing broad spectrum SPF 30 protection. It has a vanilla scent to it which I love, and the application is perfect. I don't use this often, but it's good to have just in case.

My favorite from the brand is the Baby Oil SPF 30. I love anything that's a body oil, so I knew I would love this product. It's a very lightweight formula, but it provides such a pretty shine to the skin. I haven't left the house without applying this product.

Next is their Classic Whip SPF 30. I vividly remember this product trending on social media, and I was honestly confused on where it should be applied. I knew it was a sunscreen mousse, but the application is what confused me. I saw people applying it to their face, some to just their body, and others face and body, so when I received it, I applied it to both, and immediately regretted it. The mousse is way too oily for it to be applied to my face. The shine it provides is a little too much for me, but it looks great on the rest of the body.

Another Black girl friendly SPF is Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF 50. I was completely shocked by this product because it reminded me of a primer I used to love: Smashbox Photo Finish primer. The consistency and application is exactly the same, and it does not leave a white cast.

I reserved the best for last, as it isn't from the Vacation brand but from LiveTinted, specifically their HueGuard Skin Tint SPF 50. I've had this product since my trip to Colombia in January, but only tried it a few weeks ago. During hot summer days, I typically skip foundation and prefer to use concealers, bronzer and blush, just to keep my skin feeling lightweight, but the LiveTinted product has been just what my skin needs. It's a weightless, lightweight buildable coverage sunscreen that leaves NO WHITE CAST! NONE. I've worn it as a foundation with a full beat, and was shocked at how good it looked, a little better than my foundation actually. The best part about the product is that you don't need much to achieve a full glam.
